Taking a closer look at the fundamental questions of life, the UMKC Theatre Department is presenting "Arcadia" throughout this week.

Written by the legendary Tom Stoppard, "Arcadia" explores order, chaos, love and lust with parallel story lines set nearly 200 years apart, in 1809 and the current era.

"Stoppard's complex characters constantly try to outwit one another while addressing critical questions on the difference between love and sex, whether nature is more sublime than art, and why we love those we love," said director and UMKC professor of Theatre Arts Barry Kyle, a veteran director of the London stage.

"Arcadia" previews through Nov. 3, opens Wednesday, Nov. 4, and runs through Sunday, Nov. 8.

Single tickets for adults are $15; seniors, $10; students, $6; and groups of 10 or more, $5 each. Tickets are available through the Central Ticket Office at 816-235-6222.
