City in Motion: Fall semester dance classes begin at the City in Motion School of Dance, 3925 Main St. For registration information and class schedules, visit www.cityinmotion.org.

Eat for Life: This 10-week course is designed to create a healthy relationship with your food, mind and body. Classes are 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Hospital Hill, 1-2 p.m. at Volker. $60 for materials, plus get a $20 refund if you attend nine of the 10 classes. "Mamma Mia": Here's your chance to see the hit Broadway musical in Kansas City. Performance begins at 8 p.m. at Starlight Theatre. Tickets start at $9.

Wednesday, Sept. 9

KC Improv Festival: Fifteen acts will perform at the Kansas City Improv Festival, including nationally-recognized improvisers from live venues across the nation. Performances start at 7 p.m. Sept. 9-12, at the Off Center Theater inside of Crown Center.
Thursday, Sept. 10

Study Abroad Fair: Begins at 11 a.m. at Pierson Auditorium in the University Center.

Rob Whitsitt Quartet: Watch them perform live at 7 p.m. in the Blue Room inside the American Jazz Museum. Admission is free.

Beauty in Flight: Attend a fashion show benefitting the Rose Brooks domestic violence shelter. Event starts at 7:30 p.m. in Leawood's Park Place Development, 117th Street and Nall Avenue. Runway showcases designs from various local boutiques beginning at 8 p.m. $50 general admission includes two drink vouchers. For more information and tickets, visit www.rosebrooks.com.

Happy Hour: Interested in becoming a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters? Attend this free happy hour and learn all about it while enjoying beer and snacks. Event goes from 6-8 p.m. at the Boulevard Brewing Company. RSVP to erica@bbbskc.org.

"Berdella": View the premiere screening of the film adaptation of Bob Berdella, Kansas City's infamous serial killer. Written and produced by UMKC alumnus Paul South and Rockhurst University alumnus Bill Taft. Show starts at 9 p.m. at the Screenland Theater. Entrance is first come first serve, or RSVP on the Bob Berdella Facebook group. $7.
