Speaking for Ourselves: Women, Minorities and the Media: Friends of the Community Media are having a panel discussion from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Tony Aguirre Community Center, 2050 W. Pennway St.
Faculty Recital: Performing faculty includes Carter Enyeart and Robert Weirich at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, White Recital Hall.

Eddy Burke: Unique folk-rock musical performance starts at 8 p.m. at the Crossroads Infoshop Community Center, 3109 Troost Ave.
Kasino Knight: Kappa Alpha Psi is hosting this event at 7 p.m. in the African American Culture House.

Historic Preservation: The Ultimate Recycling: Richard Moe lectures on the importance of preserving buildings at 6:30 p.m., the Kansas City Public Library, Central Branch, 14 W. 10th St.
Independent Media in Time of War: This film, starring Amy Goodman, will be shown from 7 to 9 p.m. in Haag Hall, room 312.
Conservatory Wind Ensemble: Musical performance starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, White Hall.

I-Friends: This afternoon of entertainment is from 2 to 4 p.m., University Playhouse.
Framing Chavez: How Media Bias Turns the Venezuelan Revolution into Character Assassination: Part of media reform week, it runs from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Rockhurst Community Center, 5401 Troost Ave.
Foreign Language Academy Open House: Open house for Kansas City's first Spanish immersion school starts with tours at 6:30 p.m. The Foreign Language Academy is located at 3450 Warwick Boulevard.
