Beyond the Wall: Poster sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the University Breezeway.

Roo BBQ: Free BBQ starting at 11 a.m. on the University Walkway and at the University Playhouse.

Tuesday, Aug. 19

Tuesday Tune-up Series: The first meeting in this life balancing series is from noon to 1 p.m. at the MindBody Connection, University Center, room 161.

Jazz Poetry Jam: Georgia Me gives a spoken word performance at 7 p.m. at the Blue Room, 1616 E. 18th St.

Rex Hobart's Chuck Wagon Dinner Show: Come yee-haw with the best of them at 7 p.m. at the Record Bar, 1020 Westport Road.

Wednesday, Aug. 20

Swinney Splash: Enjoy some time in the pool before you are overloaded in homework! Event is from 8 to 9:45 p.m. in Swinney Rec Center.

Art Exhibit: Students of Adults Continuing Education with Developmental Disabilities (ACED) are having an art exhibit from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the first floor of Royall Hall.

Roo Fair: APC is holding a Roo Fair as part of welcome week starting at 9 a.m. on the University Walkway.

Thursday, Aug. 21

LGBT Welcome Social: Come out for a meet and greet at 4 p.m. on the Oak Street Residential Hall Lawn.

Ice Cream Social: APC is having an ice cream social starting at 7 p.m. in University Center, Alumni room.

Hip-hop Top 40: This weekly party starts at 9 p.m. at Del Rio, 2934 Southwest Blvd.

Friday, Aug. 22

Volleyball: The Alumni Challenge starts at 5:30 p.m. at Swinney Rec Center.

Bubble Dance: The Annual bubble dance starts at 7 p.m. at the University Playhouse.

Kathy Griffin: Comedy performance at 7:30 p.m. at the Starlight Theatre, 6601 Swope Parkway, $45+.

Guinness World Record for Largest Marble Tournament: World record attempt is from 9:45 to 11 a.m. at Swinney Rec Center.

Jazz Crawl: The yearly Jazz crawl. Meet the bus at 3 p.m. at the University Atrium.

Baseball: Kansas City's Royals are playing the Detroit Tigers at 7:10 p.m. at Kaufman Stadium, $9+ parking.

Sunday, Aug. 24

Reading and Book Release: Silvia Koffler's book release is being celebrated at 2 p.m. at the Kansas City Public Library, Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St.

"All Shook Up": Dinner theatre starts at 11:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the New Theatre Restaurant, 9229 Foster St., Overland Park, Kan., $42.95 including parking.
