Annual Diversity Lecture: Gloria Wilder Brathwaite will be speaking at Dr. Reaner and Mr. Henry Shannon's annual diversity lecture. The topic is Healthcare Equity. Program starts at 7 p.m. in the Gem Theatre, 1615 E. 18th St.
A Wise, a Good and a Great Man: Author John Buchanan discusses George Washington at 6:30 p.m. at the Kansas City Public Library, Central Branch, 14 W. 10th St.
UMKC Creative Writing Faculty Benefit Reading: Hadara Bar-Nadav, Michelle Boisseau, Christie Hodgen, Michael Pritchett, Robert Stewart and Whitney Terrell debut new poetry and fiction at 7 p.m. in 106 University Center. Admission is free, but a $4 donation is suggested.
