The University of Missouri-Kansas City hosted the first ultimate Frisbee tournament on the University track infield last Saturday afternoon. Teams from UMKC, Rockhurst University and the University of Central Missouri (UCM) competed in the all-day event.

UCM team PDF won the $100 first prize, with the UMKC Ninjas pulling down second place and a $50 prize.

UMKC sophomore Drew Davis, Spanish major, said he and a friend came up with the idea for the competition after attending a similar event in Warrensburg last fall. Eight teams participated, including another team put together by the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance, who represented the school well with their competitive prowess.
