UMKC students and visitors were able to buy dates Friday evening. A date auction was sponsored and hosted by the Delta Sigma Theta sorority. Prospective dates ranged from various Greek fraternities, such as Kappa Alpha Psi and Phi Beta Sigma, to other University student guest participants.

Audience members were able to bid the highest dollar on appealing models. Bids started from $10 and progressed to the $30 mark. Guests who won the highest bid were also given choices of date packages. The packages included anything from dinner at a snazzy restaurant to a more intimate date, at the haunted houses. To formulate an auction ambiance, the Deltas offered refreshments as well as delectable finger foods to guests.
