Explosive debate dominates SGA meeting

A controversial funding resolution resulted in an hour of spirited discourse before the issue was tabled at the Sept. 19 Student Government Association (SGA) meeting. The proposed resolution, introduced by SGA President Sean McClain, would have cut funding from the Debate and Mock Trial teams and prohibited them from approaching the Student Activity Fee Committee (SAFC) for money.

In most cases, parking on the sidewalk in front of Swinney Recreation Center results in a hefty fine. Such was not the case last week. C-SPAN's Campaign 2008 bus visited campus Sept. 19. Financial Aid, slow but steady

Student sues over racial slur Graduate student Barbara Franks, liberal arts, has filed a lawsuit against the University of Missouri (UM) and the UM Board of Curators, alleging discrimination on the basis of race, sex and retaliation. Community welcomes new Health Sciences facility

A beautiful September afternoon marked the UMKC Health Sciences Building (HSB) Dedication. Home to the Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy, the $50.2 million structure, a component of the Hospital Hill Campus, began holding classes this fall. Chancellor Guy Bailey said the HSB's positive impact has already been felt.
