Food Review

By Laura Katzer

Cancun Fiesta Fresh 4019 Pennsylvania Ave. I found a favorite taco spot at Cancun Fiesta Fresh. The diminutive restaurant is on Pennsylvania Avenue on the edge of Westport's business and nightlife nucleus. The restaurant is able to serve a large lunch crowd of business people, students and local residents, as well as the late night masses that come hungry out of shows and clubs.

WaterFire brings Kansas City to darker age

By Jessie Burche

WaterFire Kansas City was really cool. There's no other way to put it. It was incredibly primal. Two of the oldest substances on earth (water and fire, work with me people!) were at the focus of the event. Hundreds of people attended the event and while many chose to stand and stare at one lump of fire, I chose to walk the course.

Movie Reviews

Comedy City is the solution to your boring weekend. Not only does Comedy City have a restaurant and bar, it also offers a variety of snacks and alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages while watching live improvisational comedy, on a stage just a few feet in front of you, and for a very affordable price.

Artspaces not for the faint of art

By Shannon Ayers

The room is completely dark except for a light coming from a single screen at the front of Epperson Auditorium. All of a sudden sounds erupt from the speakers, bass notes accompanied by the sounds of a young person speaking in a foreign language. On the screen a variety of swirls and patterns appear as if in a dream punctuated by jolts in the beats of the music.

One of the most important literary magazines in the United States is published at UMKC. In its previous incarnation as The University Review, it published famous authors such as e.e. cummings, William Carlos Williams and J.D. Salinger. The magazine's name changed to New Letters in 1971.

By Joshua Seiden

It is not uncommon for a student to wonder, "who wrote this?" when perusing an assigned reading. In this case, it may have been the person who sat in his very desk the previous semester.
